I recently bought that book, and I love everything about it, as you do.I look forward to seeing your pics, sounds like we have similar tastes.I have a studio, which i have monthly sales from, and after cramming as much as I can in that, I feel I want to declutter and simplify the home to relax in.

Another one of those conincidences. I was just sitting on the deck today enjoying Restoration Home by the Baileys. Then I come in the house and check your blog and there they are again. I agree w/ you. I do love their style.

As a mom of 2 live in er, "post" teens (19 and 20) and all of their accoutrements (games, guitars, other boys, etc) I have been living the Crude lifestyle for awhile. :)
But really, old pieces are sometimes made the best, and have style and function that today's furniture can't replicate. I find it endearing to think a piece of furniture has a past history, a personality all of its own-maybe belonging to another woman obsessed with a love of decor, but living in a boys den.

You always have such beautiful pictures - I love your style and how it has changed from time to time. I will bet that 'Crude Style' is the next big way of decorating. I can see a book in your future! Thank you for the link to those books, that's just my kind of style! I've been rocking the 'crude style' since high school (though my mother preferred to call it 'Victorian rubbish dump'). My Dad is a master restorer and he would often drag home some over-painted, wire repaired, knocked about old treasure only to find I'd stolen it for my room within the hour!

I love that style. I think of it as "Raw" style.
