Crude Style
. I posted a blog post years ago about this great shop I discovered called Bailey's Home and Garden outside London in Bridstow, England. The Bailey's have published a few books and they have become my new favorites for simple, unfussy living. Buy them here. How easy to collect little chairs and hang them on the wall as sculpture (or a shelf). After styling my home and shop for various magazines this year, I have a new desire to make things less perfect. I am calling this new look Comments: Deb-LOVE this "Crude Style"!!! I gave up collecting wooden crates some time ago---why????!! They are perfect this way!!! Comments: I recently bought that book, and I love everything about it, as you do.I look forward to seeing your pics, sounds like we have similar tastes.I have a studio, which i have monthly sales from, and after cramming as much as I can in that, I feel I want to declutter and simplify the home to relax in. Comments: Hi Debbie, just wanted to let you know, I was in your store on Friday (Jun05), beautiful as I imagined, it was my first time to visit...I love the newspaper wall...hope you have continued success. Comments: Another one of those conincidences. I was just sitting on the deck today enjoying Restoration Home by the Baileys. Then I come in the house and check your blog and there they are again. I agree w/ you. I do love their style. Comments: As a mom of 2 live in er, "post" teens (19 and 20) and all of their accoutrements (games, guitars, other boys, etc) I have been living the Crude lifestyle for awhile. :) Comments: So psyched to see the September RH, Deb! This will be an issue that your friends, fans, and customers will keep forever. Congratulations many times over. Comments: I would love to see your works published in a book. I'm sure it would be a fast favorite of mine. Can't wait for the issue to come out of your home/shop. Congrats, Theresa Comments: So EXCITING!!!!! I love Romantic Homes and look forward to seeing your home and your shop in it.(We advertise in it for our on line boutique). You always have such beautiful pictures - I love your style and how it has changed from time to time. I will bet that 'Crude Style' is the next big way of decorating. I can see a book in your future! You are so inspirational. And how great that you were able to style both for the magazine to be just as you want it. Can't wait to see it!!! Comments: Thank you for the link to those books, that's just my kind of style! I've been rocking the 'crude style' since high school (though my mother preferred to call it 'Victorian rubbish dump'). My Dad is a master restorer and he would often drag home some over-painted, wire repaired, knocked about old treasure only to find I'd stolen it for my room within the hour! Comments: I love that style. I think of it as "Raw" style. Comments: Beautiful and inspiring! Comments: Debbie, the photos of the shop look fantastic. On my national list of 3/50 stores you are #1.
